Chalk Talk this week kicks off with Dia Del Tread... or Day of the Tread! It's Paul Reardon Board Member and organizer on the show to talk about signing up! Participating bike riders are encouraged to dress in costumes and can choose from 12-mile, 26-mile, 54-mile, 64-mile, 80-mile, and 100-mile treks! Day of the Tread benefits Pegasus Legal Services for Children is a private, non-profit agency that serves the civil legal needs of New Mexico’s vulnerable children and youth. Featured segment on Chalk Talk is all about National First Responders Appreciation Day in new Mexico. Event Organizer Erin Rogers along with Rio Rancho District 5 City Councilor Shelby Smith join in to talk about how the City of Rio Rancho is showing their appreciation! On September 27th, festivities include meeting police, fire, paramedics and other first responders who take the daily risk to keep us safe.

This show kicks things off with John Bush who is the President of Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. John joined the show to talk all about taking passengers on the ride of a lifetime, connecting Colorado and New Mexico, the Mountains of the San Juans to the Conejos Valley, and allowing us to see where the deer and the antelope play especially during the changing of the leaves. And it's all about the UNM Children's Hospital & Children's Miracle Network for the 7th Annual Disc-It Round Up! The Disc-It Round Up is a DISC-IT cooking competition where customers bring their DISC-ITs and challenge each other with their culinary skills. Awesome food and fun!
