This week on Chalk Talk: Rock the Vote in Rio Rancho. Mayor Greg Hull joins to rally folks to vote. Also on the show, high school lacrosse is back in session for New Mexico.

The show starts with Mayor of Rio Rancho Greg Hull joining Andres T to talk about getting out and voting. Municipal elections are taking place in Rio Rancho and residents are encouraged to participate. A few key components on the ballot include a few city councilor seats. Voting day is March 1st, 2016. Find out more info about the City of Rio Rancho ballot HERE. Featured segment on the show is all about high school lacrosse and it's tremendous growth of participants in New Mexico. Clay Whetherill with the New Mexico High School Lacrosse Association joins the show to talk about the announced 2016 season schedule for its 9 member teams.  The first regular season game will be on February 23 when Cibola hosts Rio Rancho at 4:30 pm. On Chalk Talk this week Host Andres T has special guest and former University of New Mexico Football star Marcus "Goodie" Goodloe on the show to talk about Martin Luther King Jr. Day. He talks about a luncheon in Rio Rancho on Monday January 19th that listeners are invited to attend presented by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference New Mexico. Goodie was a collegiate All-American and was the 1st African American to earn a Ph.D. from Dallas Baptist University with his focus on  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Featured guest on the show is the Road Runner Food Bank of New Mexico. Communications Officer of the RRFB Sonya Warwick joins Chalk Talk to talk about the issue of hunger in New Mexico and its challenges to fix the issue. Many individuals and families go hungry each and every day and the community can make a difference and help those in need. Sonya talks about one way and that is the "2015 Souper Bowl event taking place on January 24th.
