Chalk Talk this week kicks off with the "Movie Buzz" and how Jurassic World has been "dino-mite" in the box office. The Summer Fun Series continues on the show with an evening of live big band swing at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial. Lorenzo Marquez joins the show to talk all about the memorial, what it means for Americans, and why it's a gem in Albuquerque. And Featured guest Tara Nicole Arellano (reigning Mrs. New Mexico United States) talks with Andres about her charity called the Mariposa Network and its mission to support victims of brain trauma in New Mexico. She gives listeners the 411 on the 2nd Annual Bike For Brain Trauma Wine Tour & Festival which benefits her organization. Event is June 27th!

We must never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and Park Manager of the David Westphall Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Angel Fire, NM Kate German joins to talk about the Memorial Weekend activities taking place! Featured guest on the show is American patriot Bryce Wagoner. There is a trend running rampant in the country where people desecrate and disrespect our country's flag, but one man has started a new trend that show cases the love of our country as well as pride. And Bryce is standing up for our flag with the ‪#‎AmericanFlagChallenge‬ and letting you know how you can participate!

Host Andres T kicks things off by "hitting replay" and featuring a previous interview with the Duke City Gladiators Professional Indoor Football coming to Albuquerque. Featured guest on the show is Ross Hollman with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico. Andres T talks with Ross about getting the community involved with the organization by being a "Big". The focus of the show was on the declining graduation rate in Albuquerque and how BBBS is implementing a new program called Mentor 2.0 to bring the rates back up.

Andres T kicks things off by taking a trip to the 27th Annual Fiery Foods & BBQ Show in Albuquerque. Audio from some of the vendors and from the event's Director Dave DeWitt. Also, Host Andres T features Director of Polly's Run Josh Rogers to talk about the non-profit event which honors Polly Rogers, and all the loved ones we have lost to pancreatic cancer. The purpose of the race is to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research. The families and volunteers for this race would like to encourage you to support Polly’s Run through a donation, large or small.

Also Colleen McRoberts with Bernalillo County open space talks about Bachechi open space and Sunday Family Fun Days for families and the community to come in the Albuquerque and surrounding area to come and enjoy the county's open space for free! The Sunday Family Fun Day runs every Sunday starting February 1st.

On Chalk Talk this week: It's a snowshoe race to save the mountain! Also, something is better than nothing when it comes to financial help in college.

On this week's episode host Andres T kicks things off by talking about the Lottery Scholarship reduction in the state of New Mexico. Many people are angry and Andres T gives you his take on why they are wrong about being angry. Also on the show, Andres T talks about the Sandia Mountain Snowshoe Race that raises funds for the Friends of the Sandia Mountains organization for preservation, conservation, maintenance of trails and other US Forest Service resources with race director Lou Romero! Listeners are encouraged to sign up and race! Lou also spoke of how the Friends of the Sandia Mountains works to educate people on how important it is to preserve the Sandia mountains and its forest.

He also talked about the final push to collect toys from the community for the cause as well as the toy distribution. Also on the show, it's Chalk Talk Greatest Hits with an awesome throwback interview from earlier this year. We revisit The Ultimate Fighter Season 20 Competitor Heather Jo Clark interview from October. Her fight is coming up on December 12th so it seemed like a good idea to replay the interview.
