This week on Chalk Talk: Rock the Vote in Rio Rancho. Mayor Greg Hull joins to rally folks to vote. Also on the show, high school lacrosse is back in session for New Mexico.

The show starts with Mayor of Rio Rancho Greg Hull joining Andres T to talk about getting out and voting. Municipal elections are taking place in Rio Rancho and residents are encouraged to participate. A few key components on the ballot include a few city councilor seats. Voting day is March 1st, 2016. Find out more info about the City of Rio Rancho ballot HERE. Featured segment on the show is all about high school lacrosse and it's tremendous growth of participants in New Mexico. Clay Whetherill with the New Mexico High School Lacrosse Association joins the show to talk about the announced 2016 season schedule for its 9 member teams.  The first regular season game will be on February 23 when Cibola hosts Rio Rancho at 4:30 pm. It's all about the BIG Souper Bowl 2016.... Well it's not quite the bowl game you are thinking. It's one that has the mission of permanently ending hunger in New Mexico. Sonya Warwick with the Road Runner Food Bank of New Mexico joins the show to talk about the issue of hunger in New Mexico and how you can help combat hunger by simply joining the Souper Bowl 2016! Featured segment on the show is all about providing the affordability for kids to play in organized sports in the community. One man is trying to make it happen and Tim Claiborne needs your help. Sports for New Mexico Kids was formed to better the lives of children in New Mexico and is achieved by increasing access to quality youth sports and outdoor recreational programs as well as working to create a more positive and healthy youth culture in our schools and neighborhoods.

This week on Chalk Talk: Battle of the Badges to benefit fallen officer's family and 9 year old Albuquerque Track & Field Star headed to USA Track & Field Junior Olympic Nationals.

On Chalk Talk, host Andres T talks with Valerie Ortega, event coordinator of "Battle of the Badges" charity football game about the event and how it benefits the Ten-82 Fund helping families of officers affected by tragedy including the latest fallen Rio Rancho Officer Greg Benner's family. The game is slated to take place on August 1st, 2015 at Rio Rancho High School Stadium. Featured guest on the show is, 9 year old Albuquerque Track & Field Star Acacia Dairsow headed to USA Track & Field Junior Olympic Nationals in Jacksonville, Florida at the end of July. Acacia talks about her journey as an athlete and about her specialty which is high jump. She also talks about how this being her first year has turned some heads. The show kicks off with Andres T bringing in DJ Big Spade out of Denver, Colorado. Big Spade talks about his projects coming up around the country including New Mexico. Featured guest on the show is 2015 X-Games Competitor, Female Skateboarder Mariah Duran. She joins the show to talk about her career in skateboarding as a fresh graduate of Manzano High School in Albuquerque. She hopes to make the "Duke City" proud of her and looks to win a gold medal. Mariah talks about her fundraising to help her get to Austin where the games will be held June 4-7.

First guest is Chief Deputy with the Bernalillo County Sheriffs Department Sid Covington joining the show to rally the community to help a young 13 year old by the name of Riley fight brain cancer. It's the "Rally for Riley" Charity Basketball Tournament and Riley needs your help. Featured segment on the show is Bike To Work Day in Albuquerque. May is National Bike Month and what better way to take part then to join in the City of Albuquerque's Bike to Work Day on May 15th.
